Would you like to spend a semester abroad during your studies? Then you find here all the important information on how to organize an exchange semester. Benefit from our extensive, worldwide partner network and gain valuable, international experience.
Please note that there are various mobility programs through which you can organize an exchange semester. Your preference of country or a specific university is decisive in selecting a mobility program.
The Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP) is limited to Europe. Bilateral agreements made by the university (= university-wide agreements) or the Faculty (= Faculty agreements) offer the opportunity to apply to partner universities around the world. If there is no agreement with your university of choice, a study abroad stay can also be organized independently.
An overview of the partner universities can be found on our interactive map:
More detailed information on the partner universities can be found on the official UZH Mobility Online platform:
Please note: Economics as well as Business Administration students can apply for partner universities with a respective Economics or Business Administration agreements. Banking and Finance as well as Management and Economics students have the choice of all Economics and Business Administration partner universities.
Generally, at least two exchange offerings are available per university. Students have the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at one of the participating universities. It is not possible, however, to study for one semester each at two different partner universities.
Regardless of which mobility program you decide on, you will find useful instructions on our website for the steps to be taken regarding planning and application.
For an initial overview, the Faculty organizes once a year an outgoing information event.
For specific questions about mobility, we offer a personal phone consultation hour (without appointment).
