The following information concerns Bachelor and Master students in the regular Major and Minor programs. Students of the Master's program in Quantitative Finance (MSc QF) can find information about the changes in regulations affecting them on the following website.

Starting in the fall semester 2022, a new framework ordinance and new program regulations (RVO22) for studies in the Bachelor's and Master's programs in business and economics and informatics will come into effect.

This revision of the regulations will bring some changes for your studies. Below you will find the most important changes at first glance. Detailed information can be found on the dedicated website for RVO22.

The most important in short

Modified study programs: As part of the change in regulations, some of the existing study program offerings have been modified or redesigned. Details can be found on our website.

Repetition regulations to be introduced: The failed attempt pool, which previously applied to examinations at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics, will be replaced by repetition regulations as of HS22. This means that failed modules can be repeated once. If the opportunity to repeat the module has been exhausted unsuccessfully, the module is considered to have been definitely failed.

Partial cancellation of failed attempts: All failed attempts prior to HS22 will be dropped – with the exception of failed attempts at the major assessment level and failed attempts in modules from additional requirements (= Bachelor modules within the scope of individual Master's admission).

No change in deadlines: All deadlines continue to run. This concerns on the one hand the assessment deadline and on the other hand also the deadline imposed individually on students for completing the additional requirement as part of the Master’s admission.

Reasons for irrevocable exclusion / banning of studies: As of HS22, each failed attempt in a compulsory module is decisive. If the opportunity to repeat the module has been exhausted unsuccessfully, the compulsory module is considered to have been definitively failed. An irrevocable exclusion from studies will be issued.

New module codes: All WWF Bachelor's and Master's modules will receive new module codes as of HS22.

Please note that the above information is only an abbreviated version of the changes. Detailed explanations can be found on our website at: www.oec.uzh.ch/en/rvo22
