Inaugural lecture by Alessandro Ferrari, 19.12.2022

You are warmly invited to the inaugural lecture of Prof. Alessandro Ferrari:

Firms and the Macroeconomy

The lecture will discuss how firms’ choices affect macroeconomic outcomes. To study this, Prof. Alessandro Ferrari combines theoretical and empirical tools to establish novel positive and normative insights on how firms’ location choices, their market power and their supply chain design shape the aggregate behavior of the economy and its cyclical fluctuations.

Alessandro Ferrari is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics. He is a macroeconomist focusing on the aggregate consequences of firm behavior. He is particularly interested in topics related to production networks, supply chains and market power. He received his PhD from the European University Institute in 2020.

The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, 19 December 2022, at 5pm. No reservation is needed.

A live stream is available for people who cannot attend the event in person: https://vimeo.com/showcase/8267237/video/782056474
