The Value of Peers in Education
Social interactions among students are an essential part of education and likely represent a major source of learning. This lecture discusses what we currently know about peer effects and introduces a new way to determine the economic value of a peer.
Ulf Zölitz studied Economics at the University of Bonn and received his PhD from Maastricht University in 2014. From 2014 to 2017 he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at IZA and briq in Bonn. In 2017 he joined the Department of Economics and the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development as an Assistant Professor.
The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Raemistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 5:00 pm. No reservation is needed.
