The political economy of culture and conflict
In his inaugural lecture, David Yanagizawa-Drott will cover the latest evidence on our understanding of how social interactions and social norms shape economic and political phenomena, ranging from conflict and political protests to female labor force participation.
David Yanagizawa-Drott was appointed Professor of Development and Emerging Markets at the University of Zurich in 2017. He is affiliated with the UBS Center. His work is centered around economic development and political economy, with current focus on culture, conflict, and globalization.
The inaugural lecture is public and will take place as part of the science festival "100 Ways of Thinking" University of Zurich at Kunsthalle Zurich (Löwenbräu-Areal, Kunsthalle Zürich, Limmatstrasse 270, Zürich Google-Maps ) on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at 4 pm. No reservation is needed.
