You are warmly invited to the inaugural lecture of Prof. Francesco Reggiani:
The role of accounting in the asset pricing debate
A long stream of papers documents correlations between firm characteristics and future stock returns. Many of the characteristics involve accounting numbers, such as book-to-price, book rate-of-return, and investment. However, these characteristics have largely been identified simply by observing what predicts returns in the data, a data mining exercise that has resulted in a proliferation of predictors. In his inaugural lecture Prof. Reggiani will discuss why and how accounting numbers convey information about risk and expected return of an equity investment.
The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Raemistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 7:30 pm. No reservation is needed.
We are looking forward to seeing you there!
