Approximate Dynamic Programming in the Era of Business Analytics

Christiane Barz will outline the main ideas behind approximate dynamic programming. She will in particular highlight on how approximate dynamic programming is connected to the field of business analytics and present applications.

Christiane Barz graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology before she worked  as a postdoctoral researcher at Chicago Booth School of Business.  She continued her work on approximate dynamic programming as an assistant professor at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. After a brief time as a professor of operations management at TU Berlin in 2015, she then joined the University of Zurich in 2016.

The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Raemistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, December 10, 2018, at 5:00 pm. No reservation is needed.
