The Causal Impact of Children's Health Shocks

In her presentation, Ana Costa-Ramón will illustrate how children's health shocks can have major implications for the well-being of their families and their own development. To study this, she exploits rich administrative data sources and contributes to previous literature by providing credible causal estimates of the impact of health shocks during childbirth and from childhood to teenage years.

Ana Costa-Ramón is an Assistant Professor of Economics of Child and Youth Development at the Department of Economics and the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development. She is an applied microeconomist mainly interested in Health, Labor, and Gender Economics and received her Ph.D. in economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2020. 

The inaugural lecture is public and will take place in the Aula of the University of Zurich (KOL G-201, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zurich) on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 6.15pm. No reservation is needed.
